This will afford you the opportunity to make any alterations to your property that you desire during the reconstruction phase. Blown-in Insulation Removal

Blown-in Insulation Removal – Disaster Situations

In many disaster situations, you need to have the insulation removed from your house.  When disaster strikes, often times, the insulation has suffered water damage in addition to your more noticeable possessions. Wet insulation can promote the growth of mold which exposes compromised residents to potential health risks.

Blown in Insulation Removal – Animal Infestation

Rodents, birds and bats can also compromise your insulation. In some cases, rats, raccoons and mice can chew through the insulation, preventing it from working properly. Rodent, bat and bird droppings in the attic or under sub-flooring also have the potential to spread contaminants and diseases inside the house.

Blown in Insulation Removal – Old Insulation

If your insulation was installed 20 or more years ago, it will be far thinner than insulation installed today, and may not have the standard R-value (the measure of the insulation’s thermal performance) necessary for today’s homes.

Why use SERVPRO of Milton / Braintree?

Removal of insulation is one of our specialty services. We have the right equipment to get the job done -  the high-powered Nikro Insul 10 Insulation Vacuum.  You’ll have greater peace of mind when you let us perform all the associated tasks:

Why it’s important to clean your air ducts?

3/23/2016 (Permalink)

Before and after of an air filter from a duct cleaning job.

Cleaning you air ducts is an important part of maintaining good air quality.  A typical home will generate and average of 40 pounds of dust each year.  In the Milton and Braintree area we have our windows closed for a good part of the year because of the cold temperatures, helping keep that dust inside our homes.  When it gets warm out, its pollen season, and this pollen can find its way inside our homes and HVAC systems.

While dirty ducts don’t necessarily mean unhealthy air in your home, school or workplace, they may be harboring contaminants that could cause problems for people with respiratory health conditions, autoimmune disorders or some environmental allergies.

Dirt and debris trapped in your HVAC system should also be removed not only for the quality of the indoor air, but for the efficiency of the system itself as a system with cleaner ducts will perform more efficiently.

It is also important to clean your air ducts if your house or workplace has been affected by fire, smoke, soot or mold.  Any of these conditions may have affected air ducts as soot, smoke and mold spores can be airborne and end up in the duct system.

Having your heating and air conditioning system cleaned and replacing your systems filters with high quality filters can make a huge difference in the quality of the air that is circulating in your home.
